China to raise retail prices of gasoline, diesel

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China's top economic planner, said that the retail prices of gasoline increase by 230 yuan ($34.5) and that of diesel by 220 yuan from Tuesday. After the change, the price of gasoline will be 7420 per ton and the price of diesel will be 6680 per ton. The Chinese government allows NDRC to adjust the price when the price of international crude oil changed over 4 percent in 22 straight working days.

Harbin Second-hand Smoking Control Law

Smoking will be banned in all indoor public places in the northeast China city of Harbin, this is the first local law which is considered to solve the problem of "Second-hand smoking".The draft law outlines penalties for smokers who light up in public or working places and affect others with their smoke and the highest fine is going to be 2000 yuan, roughly 300 dollars. After considering the importance of tobacco in China, the "Harbin Second-hand Smoking Control Law" would just be implementing practically, because it will affect the tobacco market negatively.

China opposes US bill on foreign currency reform

China opposes legislation passed by the US House of Representatives on Wednesday to penalize countries that to use their currency values for advanced trading. China urged US lawmakers to consider the importance of Sino-US trade and avoid harming the interests of the people of China, the United States, and the world. On the other hand, any actions to against China with the excuse of RMB exchange rate would seriously damage Sino-US trade and badly affect the economic of both countries and the world.
