Panel Wants BP to pay for Gulf Oil Spill

A group made by President Obama has decided they believe that a large portion of BP's aide should go to repairing the ecological and environmental aspects of the Gulf. The goal is to create a plan that will ship money into the Gulf and this plan would last years restoring the Gulf to what is was before the oil spill. Not only should BP be held accountable for this but also should be financially responsible as well because it was their fault in the first place. Even though plans have been created to restore the Gulf and BP has already pledged to give 20 billion in relief efforts, I still believe they need to do more.

  1. I'd like to start out by saying this post is informative as well as accurate. However, I don't know what else BP can do to resolve the current dilemma. They're supplying a variety of services and resources which among other things accumulates to a 20 billion dollar relief investment to help undo the damage to their already tainted reputation.

  2. As stock in BP continues to rise and they begin to build there reputation back, it is important that they show the American people that they care about what happened. They have pledged 20 billion dollars as stated before to help pay off settlements and have even said that there using there own assets as collateral to show that they understand that they must get the gulf back to what it was. Policy wise a lot is going to change and it shows us through this tragic event that the committees and policies watching over this powerful company were not cracking down on the regulations they should have been. This event opened us up to that and policy will change becuase of it.

  3. Even though BP should be held responsible and pay, this oil spill could have happened to any oil company. Most BPs across America are locally owned and operated, so boycotting them would only hurt hardworking American families. BP is doing their part and taking responsibility, but we should remember that this was only an accident and BP is paying the consequences.
