Tea Party Victory Opens Rift Between Moderate and Conservative Republicans

With the emergence of the tea party and the radical conservatives winning primaries, the Republican party is having difficulty mitigating the tension between moderate republicans like Senator Olympia Snow of Maine and tea baggers like Rand Paul.  These fringe far-right candidates are winning the primaries over long time moderates in the party like Michael Castle.  The moderates like Senator Snow are unhappy with the zealous 100% conservative ideology winning out because they believe that it is not pragmatic because the structure of politics is not absolute.  The republican party has a public policy problem because they house both there long time moderate, fiscal conservative base, and they also acknowledge the tea party crazies.  This bodes well for the democrats in a year that is forecasted as a big win for the red team.
